POSITION PURPOSE/SUMMARY:

The primary function of the CNC Machinist is to produce quality machined parts in a timely, efficient manner. A qualified candidate has experience machining a wide variety of parts and materials. Must have a functional understanding of all shop equipment, QC tools, cutting tools, best shop practices and a commitment to safety. An ideal candidate will be someone who has a commitment to continuous improvement and wants to grow within the company. 

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Setup and operate CNC mill and lathes 
• Adjust offsets and replace cutting tools as needed
• Edit programs as needed- speeds/feed/etc.
• Perform in process inspection to verify product conformance 
• Clean and deburr parts coming off machine
• Perform machine/tooling maintenance-- clean holders and collets before storing etc.
• Maintain clean work area--wash and empty chips at end of your shift, organize your tools at your station
• Maintain safe work environment
• Must fill out reports as needed

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Work is performed on the shop floor. Employee will be subject to lifting, bending and exposure to fumes and chemicals (cutting fluids, etc).
